Martha “Marti” Showers began her legal career in 2012 as a Deputy Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division of the Indiana Attorney General’s Office. Marti litigated deceptive practices against Indiana consumers as a deputy AG, and participated on the legislative team that drafted and implemented the AG’s legislative agenda. In 2017, Marti joined the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. As a deputy prosecutor, she gained misdemeanor and low-level felony trial experience as well as expertise in crimes involving operation of vehicles while intoxicated. In November of 2019, she took a position in the Expungement Division to spend more time with her son, Felix. Prior to opening her own solo practice in 2022, Marti supported the Marion County Prosecutor's Office as a legal consultant providing expungement services. Marti responded to expungement petitions, reviewed petitioner requests to file earlier than permitted by statute, and facilitated Section 5 (serious bodily injury) interviews with petitioners. Marti received her undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She worked for the Indiana Legislature as a legislative assistant prior to earning her juris doctorate from Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
